“Men don’t want to be part of a team. They want to be part of a tribe… a hunting party.”

Mentoring & Advisory
Two forms of private engagement with Laurence H Johns.
Private Mentoring is an ongoing relationship centred on the development of the individual.
Private Advisory provides concentrated judgement on a defined leadership, team or organisational matter.
Private Mentoring
A long-term private mentoring relationship for men carrying significant responsibility.
Limited to 12 private clients at any one time.
The Foundation
The first three months establish the foundation for the relationship.
The work covers the man's current position, what he wants, the experiences, beliefs and strategies that have shaped him, and the system by which he intends to live.
It also establishes a shared language for the work, including the core ideas from men's work that underpin the relationship. This allows subsequent work to go deeper, faster.
Ongoing Mentoring
Following the Foundation, the relationship continues across the full context of the client's life — including leadership, relationships, behaviour, decisions and personal development.
The engagement includes:
46 private sessions per year
a regular weekly appointment or access to a private calendar for flexible scheduling
direct personal access to Laurence between sessions
optional fortnightly private groups
monthly deep dives
private content and podcast material
weekly challenges
access to workshops and retreats
The continuity of the relationship means history, context and recurring patterns are known and carried forward throughout the work.
Commitment
Minimum engagement: six months.
Limited to 12 private clients at any one time.
There is currently a waiting list.
From £30,000 per year.

Private Advisory
Independent advice and judgement on a defined leadership, team or organisational matter.
The work is focused where people, leadership, behaviour, relationships, culture and performance intersect.
Typical areas include:
building and developing high-performing teams
leadership and senior-leadership effectiveness
difficult people and relationship problems
strategic problems involving significant human dynamics
culture, change and organisational development
competition, status and power
unspoken conflict and dysfunctional loyalties
tolerated behaviour
masculine dynamics and organisational shadow
The Engagement
An Advisory Day is the organising unit.
Each engagement is scoped around the matter and may include:
preparation and review of relevant material
conversations with key individuals
concentrated work with a leader or team
analysis of the underlying human and organisational dynamics
recommendations and appropriate follow-up
The work is not based on a standard methodology. The structure is determined by the matter being addressed.
Commitment
Available as a single Advisory Day or a multi-day engagement.
From £3,500 per day.

“Even when the faces around the table have changed, the rules of the game often haven’t. To lead effectively in today’s teams, we must understand the invisible legacies of masculinity that still shape how we work, lead, belong, succeed.”
